Methods: The medical course of a rare patient with upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by gastric cavernous hemangioma was presented in brief. Results: We report a case of a 41-year-old man who suffered from shock due to a sudden onset of hematemesis and melena. Based on his clinical appearance and the laboratory results, the patient was diagnosed with gastric hemangioma. In the laparotomy, the tumor was cut off and a total gastrectomy was performed. of cavernous hemangioma arising from the gastric was confirmed by postoperative pathological examination. Conclusion: Gastric cavernous hemangioma can be present as severe upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
