This paper sought to delineate the themes discussed in person-centered meetings between nurses and parents of children with cancer, and how these evolved over time. Using qualitative content analysis, we reviewed the written meeting reports from 56 meetings between 16 parents and nurses, subsequently calculating the percentage of parents who touched upon each topic throughout the intervention. Every parent (100%) sought information on childhood illnesses and treatments, as well as emotional support for themselves (100%). The consequences of treatment (88%), the child's emotional well-being (75%), social aspects for the child (63%), and social dynamics for parents (100%) were also key areas of concern.
